A veterinary disease database created to monitor disease outbreaks and potential bioterrorism first detected in native wildlife. The interface allows wildlife veterinarians worldwide to share critical data on hazardous contagions, and an offline component allows military personnel to access the data in remote locations. With a total project budget exceeding $150,000, Project Tripwire represents the culmination of the Wildlife Center’s ambitious disease surveillance program. The site and database were developed under extremely tight deadlines in a 4-month start-to-finish schedule. A phase 2 is in planning, which will include keyframe search, user login, and a customizable interface.
